The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Kaduna State, Isah Ashiru, says youths and women empowerment is critical in the drive for human capital development in the state.
Ashiru stated this when the Coalition of Southern Kaduna Young Persons paid him a thank you visit at his campaign office in Kaduna on Thursday.
He noted that while politicians see the youth and women as instruments for winning elections, they remain the critical drivers of development in their various communities.
He said that any reasonable government thriving for human capital development must empower the youths and women to thrive and contribute to the development of the state.
He urged the youths and women in the state who were left behind to be patient saying there will be a lot to go round if elected to office as the governor of the state.
“We will make sure we carry these critical instruments of development and everyone else along irrespective of religion and ethnicity.
“Our goal is to be fair to all and operate an inclusive governance as a panacea for peace, success, and tranquility.
Earlier, the leader of the coalition, Mr Danjuma Sarki, explained that they were in Ashiru’s campaign office to thank him for nominating one of their own, Dr John Ayuba as his running mate.
Sarki said that the visit was also to pledge their overwhelming support to the Ashiru/Ayuba PDP ticket for the 2023 General Election.
He said that Ayuba, a former commissioner of finance from Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of the state, was the right choice to form a formidable team to unify all people for the progress of the state.
According to him, the coalition of southern Kaduna youths are confident that the team, if given the mandate, will turn things around and put Kaduna state on the path of progress as one united people.
“It Is sad that the loving people of Kaduna state have been divided along religious lines because of the selfish interest of some politicians.
“This must stop and the team that will do that for us is the Ashiru/Ayuba team if elected,” he said.
On his part, Ayuba thanked the youths for the show of love and support, stressing that as a man of peace fairness and equity, Ashiru would live up to expectations if given the mandate.
He called on the youths and women to mobilise more people to ensure the success of the PDP at the polls and promised quality representation of southern Kaduna people in the new government.
