Prof. Akutosn donates food items to needy in Kaduna community

By Philip Yatai

Prof. Seth Akutson of Kaduna State University on Wednesday distributed food items to the needy in Kabala West, Kaduna South Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Akutson, while handing over the items to the beneficiaries in Kaduna, said the gesture was part of his contribution to assist poor households experiencing hardship due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown.

He listed the food items to include rice, beans, indomie, palm oil and sphagetti.

He explained that the donation was facilitated by his student, now a fellow colleague in the university, Mr Darius Yashim.

He said: “Yashim, whom I trained both at undergraduate and postgraduate level pleaded with me to come to the aid of the needy in his community.

“He told me that a lot of people in the community find it difficult to feed since the lockdown began and  that a little help will put a smile on their faces.”

Akutson noted that a lot of people were in dire need of food to be able to survive a day.

He said that if everyone would render a little help to his neighbour, it would go a long way in alleviating the suffering of the people.

Responding, the village Head of Kabala South community, Mr Yusuf Auta, thanked Akutson for the gesture and urged other well-meaning  Nigerians to emulate him
