One Project Reach Out Foundation (OPA), the lead implementing partner of the newly launched Kaduna Youth Agenda (KYA), has honoured the Chairman of Lere Local Government Council, Abubakar Buba as one its ambassadors.

OPA’s Executive Director, Zigwai Ayuba, explained that Buba was recognised for his invaluable contributions to governance reforms, youth empowerment and his open-door policy in the Local Government Area (LGA).

Ayuba presented the later of recognition to Buba on Tuesday, along with members of the Coalition of Associations for Leadership, Peace, Empowerment & Development (CALPED).

According to him, the recognition became necessary following his track record and invaluable contributions to youth development, one of the fundamental objectives of the Kaduna Youth Agenda.

“Youth empowerment programmes would make a great impact in the area of education, healthcare, agriculture, job creation and peace building.

“Young people are passionate and ready to contribute to the development agenda if appointed by government into political offices.”

Responding, Buba thanked OPA for the honour and pledged to be in the forefront of the youth development agenda.

He noted that education, healthcare, agriculture, job creation and peace building touches very critical areas of human capital development.

“Empowering the youth will secure the future of the nation, therefore, it is a collective responsibility that must be given due attention,” he said.
