Dr Abdulmalik Durunguwa, a governorship aspirant in Kaduna State in the 2023 General Election under the All Progressive Congress, has called for sustained prayers to ensure harmonious and peaceful Kaduna state and the country.

Durunguwa, a Commissioner of the National Population Commission, made the call in a Sallah message on Monday in Kaduna, while felicitating with the Muslim Ummah for a successful fasting period.

He said that the fasting period has provided an opportunity for sober reflection on the need for both Christians and Muslims to unite, pray and work towards building a united and secured Kaduna state and Nigeria.

The governorship aspirant, who prayed for peaceful Eid-el-Fitri celebration, said that the lingering insecurity, poverty, and other socio-economic and political challenges affecting the state would soon be a thing of the past.

He called on Muslims and Christians to intensify prayer for improved security, harmonious and peaceful coexistence among residents of the state, irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.

Durunguwa  said that God would soon answer the prayers of the people for a Kaduna State and Nigeria of their dreams where everyone would be treated as equals.

According to him, Muslims, and Christians must work together and pray together to build the state and a country where peace, equity and prosperity prevails.

“We must all pray very hard for an improved security situation in our dear state so that we will all sleep with our two eyes closed.

“Kaduna State will flourish if we all work as a team towards a common goal of ensuring economic prosperity, political stability, and social inclusion for the good of all.”

He also called on the Kaduna state government to continue to work toward ending insecurity in the state for development to thrive.

He therefore, urged the residents to support government efforts in improving security and contribute their quota to the development of the state.
