NYSC: Kaduna Coordinator lauds Gov. Sani’s support, task corps members on discipline

By Sani Idris Abdulrahman

The State Coordinator of NYSC in Kaduna, Mrs. Efeke Dadaza, has expressed profound gratitude to Governor Uba Sani for his unwavering support to the scheme, describing him as a youth-friendly leader committed to national development.

Dadaza also tasked corps members to uphold discipline, and commitment to national service.

Speaking during the closing ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream ‘II’ orientation course on Tuesday in Kaduna, Dadaza said the 21-day orientation programme recorded remarkable success, attributing it to the discipline, endurance, and patriotism exhibited by the corps members throughout the exercise.

She recalled that the corps members arrived at the camp on September 24 with enthusiasm and zeal to serve, adding that they are now fully equipped to face the challenges of national development.

She particularly appreciated the governor for donating a brand new JMC Hilux vehicle to ease the Slscheme’s operations and logistics, describing the gesture as “a demonstration of his deep commitment to youth empowerment and the success of the NYSC.”

Dadaza appealed to the governor to continue ensuring a peaceful and secure environment in the state, adding that such stability would discourage corps members from seeking relocation.

She advised the newly inducted corps members to uphold the values of discipline, modesty, humility, and respect for the customs and traditions of their host communities, while also engaging in meaningful community development projects.

She warned them against embarking on frivolous or unauthorised journeys outside their state of deployment, stressing that proper permission must be obtained when travel is necessary.

Dadaza further called on the governor to consider the establishment of a permanent orientation camp and the renovation of existing facilities to meet the growing corps population and enhance their welfare.

She commended camp officials, security agencies, and other collaborating bodies for their dedication and teamwork, which contributed immensely to the success of the orientation exercise.

Declaring the orientation course closed, Governor Sani said the orientation camp experience was a crucial foundation in the NYSC journey, designed to promote national unity and integration among young Nigerians.

Sani, represented by the Commissioner of Youth Development, Gloria Ibrahim, urged the corps members to carry the spirit of unity, discipline, and teamwork learned during the camp to their various places of primary assignment across the country.

He encouraged them to approach their Community Development Service (CDS) with open minds and a strong desire to make meaningful contributions to the lives of people in their host communities.

According to Sani, through the CDS, corps members could make tangible impacts, build their character, acquire vital skills, and strengthen their relevance beyond the service year.

He assured that the Kaduna State Government remains committed to supporting the NYSC scheme and ensuring the welfare and safety of corps members throughout their stay in the state.

He called on employers in both the public and private sectors to welcome corps members posted to them warmly, provide guidance, and create an enabling environment for them to thrive.

He appealed to corps members to embrace their postings with faith and enthusiasm, stressing the need to contribute meaningfully to the development of their host communities.

Sani urged them to uphold the values of patriotism and service as they proceed to their places of primary assignment across Kaduna State and beyond.(NAN)
