NYSC seeks stronger support for Kaduna orientation camp

By Sani Idris Abdulrahman

Kaduna State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs Efeke Dadaza, has reaffirmed the scheme’s commitment to corps members’ welfare and appealed to the Kaduna State Government to improve camp operations for the 2025 Batch C exercise.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony in Kaduna, Dadaza hailed Gov. Uba Sani’s support for the scheme, noting that his engagement demonstrated his belief in NYSC objectives and longstanding goodwill toward members.

She said the orientation course prepared participants through leadership training, lectures, drills, self-defence sessions and language classes, all designed to improve communication and promote cohesion during their national service in communities.

Dadaza explained that the scheme was equipping corps members with vocational and entrepreneurship skills to reduce unemployment and promote self-reliance, ensuring they could meaningfully contribute to society after completing their service year.

She commended Sani for providing a new JMC Hilux vehicle, inaugurating the NYSC governing board and approving renovation projects including pavilion reconstruction, hall repairs, boreholes, solar lighting and thousands of plastic chairs for camp use.

Dadaza appealed for additional assistance, requesting improved feeding and stipends for corps members serving in Kaduna and provision of bunks and mattresses, stressing that government support remained essential for effective performance of assigned national duties.

The coordinator urged corps members to participate fully in all activities, reminding them that the scheme rewarded excellence but punished indiscipline, and encouraged them to uphold diligence, commitment, patriotism and respect for camp rules.

Gov. Uba Sani, represented by Commissioner Gloria Ibrahim, congratulated the corps members and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to their safety, urging them to demonstrate discipline, patriotism and dedication to national unity throughout their service. (NAN)
