The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Kaduna State Chapter, has marked its end-of-year congress with the distribution of food items to about seventy members of the association.
Speaking during the distribution exercise at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat in Kaduna, the Chairperson of NAWOJ Kaduna State, Comrade Sahura Jibrin Maidoki, alongside other executive members, explained that the food items were donated by the wife of the Kaduna State Governor, Hajiya Hafsat Uba Sani.
Comrade Sahura noted that since the beginning of her tenure as NAWOJ Chairperson in Kaduna State, Hajiya Hafsat Uba Sani has continued to show strong support for the association’s initiatives and programmes. She prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the First Lady for her kindness and commitment to the welfare of women journalists.
The Chairperson emphasized that the NAWOJ Kaduna State executive would remain committed to prioritizing the welfare of its members, as well as supporting other vulnerable groups within society.
While wishing Christian members of the association a joyful Christmas celebration, Comrade Sahura encouraged all members present to continue to spread love and unity during and beyond the yuletide season.
She further stated that NAWOJ Kaduna State remains open to collaborations that would promote development and the overall benefit of the state.
In separate interviews, two beneficiaries of the gesture, Ruth Barnabas and Salamatu Abdullahi, expressed their appreciation to NAWOJ Kaduna State and the wife of the Governor for the timely support.
Items distributed during the exercise included bags of rice, spaghetti, sachets of vegetable oil, and assorted spices.
