The National Ear Care Centre (NECC) Kaduna, has hosted the convocation ceremony of the School of Audiology and Post-Basic Otorhinolaryngology Nursing, marking the graduation of qualified health professionals.
The event also featured an academic excursion by students of Cherish College of Health, Batsari, Katsina State, who visited the centre from November 3 to 6, 2025, for practical exposure.
The excursion exposed the students to specialised ear care services and modern audiology practice, reinforcing NECC’s status as a national hub for hearing healthcare training and service delivery.
The convocation highlighted the centre’s role in specialised manpower development, as graduates were formally inducted into the rare but critical fields of audiology and ORL nursing practice.

During the ceremony, a Meritorious Award of Excellence was presented to the Medical Director by the College of Nursing Sciences, Otorhinolaryngology Nursing Students of the 2024/2025 set, NECC Kaduna.
Mrs. Serah Falake, Provost of the College of Nursing Science, commended the NECC management for sustaining high training standards and strengthening professional collaboration in specialised healthcare education.

In his address, the Chief Medical Director of NECC, Dr. Mustapha Abubakar Yaro, described audiology and ORL nursing as critical but underserved specialties in Nigeria, particularly in the North.
Dr. Yaro said the centre’s training programmes were closing the manpower gap, noting that the convocation reflected steady progress in building competent specialists nationwide.
He assured graduates and visiting students of NECC’s continued support, urging them to uphold professionalism, dedication and excellence in patient care and service delivery.
