Kaduna: Education perm. Sec. bows out, hands over to director schools

Mrs Kande Bage, the Permanent Secretary, Kaduna State Ministry of Education on Friday officially retired from service and handed over the ministry to the most senior director.

Bage thanked the Kaduna State Government for the opportunity to serve and equally thanked management and members of staff of the ministry for the cooperation and the support accorded her.

Bage, who join the Kaduna State Civil Service as a classroom teacher, rose through the ranks to become a permanent secretary.   

“It has been a honour working with you and I must confess that the ministry is where it is today because of your hard work, dedication to duty and the support you gave to your superiors.

“As directors, deputy and assistant directors, I urge you to continue to work as a team and carry everyone along, particularly your subordinates,” she said.

She handed over the ministry to the most senior director, Malam Dahuru Anchau, Director Public Schools, and urged him to rally all the support he can to ensure progress.

Responding, Anchau described Bage as an outstanding civil servant, saying “we had a happy and productive working relationship.

“We will surely miss you, and we will remain thankful for your contribution in the ministry,” he added.

He solicited the support and cooperation of the management and staff pending the appointment of a commissioner and a permanent secretary.

Earlier, the Director Higher Education, Malam Musa Daudu, described Bage as “a good leader with a simple heart that accommodated all.’

“We are thankful for the love, lessons learnt and the working relationship that have improve our capacity to deliver result,” Daudu said.

Similarly, the Director, Education Sector Project, Malam Yakubu Salisu, equally thanked Bage for her style of leadership, which he said gave everyone the opportunity to give out his best.
