The Federal Government is committed to lifting millions of Nigerians out of poverty in 2021, says the Ekiti Manager of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) Mr Tomi Ikuomola.
Ikuomola gave the assurance in Ado-Ekiti on Monday, at the closing ceremony of the agency’s training for entrepreneurs tagged, “Identification of Business Opportunities”.
He said that the training was aimed at sensitising residents of business opportunities within their reach with a view to lift Nigerian citizens out of poverty.
“This training is aimed at opening the eyes of entrepreneurs to available business opportunities that they can tap from.
“It is also a prerequisite to accessing the Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending’s loans for entrepreneurs and business owners to expand businesses,” he said.
The SMEDAN boss admonished the beneficiaries to develop businesses ideas that can be funded.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Omolara Ajayi, thanked the Federal Government for the gesture, saying that the training has opened their eyes to opportunities that they could tap and expand their business.
