The Ward Development Committee ((WDC), Sabon Gari Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State has commended Rep. Garba Babawo (APC), for donating 11 laptops to Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) in the LGA.
Chairman of the committee, Mr Garba Umar made the commendation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigerian (NAN) in Kaduna on Monday.
Umar said that the lawmaker, who represents the LGA at the National Assembly donated the laptops, one each to the 11 PHCs in the 11 wards of the LGA under the 255 functional PHC per ward initiative of the state government.
He said the gesture followed an advocacy to Babawo by the WDC to support the strengthening of PCHs for quality service delivery.
Babawo said that the computers would be a great resource for the capturing, analysis and storage of health services data in the PHCs.
He called on other politicians to emulate the gesture by supporting the health sector with the needed facilities to improve the quality of service delivery.
“The laptops have been handed over to the facility heads of the benefiting PHCs.
“We will continue to mobilise resources to improve the delivery of health care services in our LGA,” he said.
Mr Mohammed Madaki, the Zonal Director, Primary Health Care Development Board, also commended Babawo for the support, describing it as “very critical” to efficient delivery of health services.
Madaki said that the use of information and communication technology would go a long way in improving efficiency and effectiveness in health data collation, analysis, and management. (NAN)
