The Chief Imam of Salsabil Jummat Mosque, Kyauta Millennium City, Kaduna, Alhaji Imam Tahir Baba Ibrahim, urged Al-manar Women Association members to promote safe and informed childbirth practices.
He gave the advice during the graduation ceremony of the Faith and Cultural Champions’ Project held in Kaduna, stressing the need for women to educate others on proper delivery processes.
Ibrahim noted that imams and traditional rulers are actively involved in the project to promote positive behavioural change across communities.
According to him, the initiative targets harmful cultural practices persisting in some communities, particularly those affecting maternal health and childbirth.
He added that the project would address these challenges in Zaria and Chikun Local Government Areas, emphasizing their importance to human well-being.
Also speaking, a doctor at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Dr. Fatimah Abdullahi, highlighted the project’s role in improving maternal and child healthcare.

A consultant with the Faith and Cultural Champions’ Project, Malam Jaure Ibrahim Adam, said the initiative builds on previous efforts and will now involve traditional rulers due to their community influence.

The Sarkin Kadaure Millennium City, Kaduna, Alhaji Hashimu Magaji, called on residents to embrace the initiative and maintain punctuality when attending programmes.
