A Kaduna-based NGO, the BEACON of Transformative and Inclusive Development Center, has provided essential support kits to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Jos, to enhance humanitarian assistance for vulnerable populations.

In a statement on Friday in Kaduna, the Executive Director of the BEACON, Mrs Abigail Olatunde, said the outreach targeted displaced families facing hardship and limited access to basic household and hygiene supplies.

Olatunde said the intervention, supported by Cornerstone Vision Ministry, focused on women and other vulnerable individuals, reinforcing efforts to promote social protection and inclusive development in displacement settings.

Olatunde said the outreach, conducted on Friday was part of ongoing efforts to support communities affected by displacement and economic hardship.

She emphasised BEACON’s commitment to supporting vulnerable families and upholding the fundamental rights to life, dignity and care.

Olatunde said the support kits distributed contained detergent, toothpaste, toothbrushes, washing soap, bathing soap, salt, seasoning cubes, matches, sanitary pads, and a cash component to address urgent needs.

She noted that community leaders who participated in the programme commended the initiative, describing the intervention as timely for displaced households struggling to meet basic needs.

The Executive Director explained that the intervention forms part of BEACON’s broader commitment to strengthening resilience and improving the well-being of vulnerable communities through humanitarian assistance and inclusive development initiatives.

She called on stakeholders, partners and well-meaning individuals to continue supporting efforts aimed at improving living conditions and promoting sustainable recovery in affected communities.

She expressed appreciation to Cornerstone Vision Ministry for its support in making the outreach possible.(NAN)
