Maku, Abbo, Others pick Labour Party Nomination Forms

Former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku and other aspirants from different parts of the country have obtained the Labour Party (LP) nomination forms for various elective positions.


The National Publicity Secretary, LP, Ken Asogwa made this known in a statement signed and released to newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja.


According to the statement, among the prominent aspirants who picked up their nomination forms on Wednesday are former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, for Nasarawa North Senatorial District;
“Sen. Ishaku Abbo, for the governorship of Adamawa ; Emmanuel Ben, for the governorship of Akwa Ibom; Adamu Blanzou, for the House of Representatives seat for Akwanga North/Eggon/Wamba Federal Constituency.
“Hon.Jesse Ayenajeh, for the House of Representatives seat for Toto Federal Constituency, Nasarawa State; Hon. Darlington Anyanwu, House of Representatives, Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency, Imo, alongside several other aspirants.


Speaking with journalists shortly after receiving his nomination forms, Labaran Maku applauded the transparent nature of the process and expressed strong confidence in the party’s chances in the forthcoming elections.


According to him, “The Labour Party has won the confidence and support of Nigerians, and I am convinced that the party will emerge victorious in the next general elections.


“From the presidency to the governorship elections where the party has firmly established itself as a household name in many states.


“Particularly in Nasarawa State and across my Senatorial District where the people remain determined to ensure the victory of the party in the forthcoming senatorial and other elections in the state.”


Similarly, Ishaku Abbo commended the growing momentum of the party and praised Nenadi Usman, National Chairman of the party, for providing the leadership that has revitalised and repositioned the party.


He also expressed optimism about the party’s prospects in the forthcoming elections across Adamawa and the wider North-East region.
