The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) says it will conduct a range classification exercise for cadets on Aug. 8.

The Academy disclosed this in a statement by its Academy Public Relations Officer, Maj. Njoka Irabor, on Friday in Kaduna.

Irabor said the exercise would take place at the NDA Open Range, Afaka.

He said residents of Mando, Tsamiya, Kauya, Afaka and surrounding areas should be aware of the exercise and adhere to safety guidelines.

According to him, the academy has put in place all necessary safety measures to ensure the successful conduct of the exercise.

He advised members of the public to avoid trespassing or moving close to the range area throughout the period of the exercise.

The PRO urged media organisations and community stakeholders to disseminate the information widely to create public awareness and ensure safety.

He said the academy appreciated the continuous cooperation and understanding of members of the public.

Irabor said the assurance was given on behalf of the Commandant of the NDA, Maj.-Gen. Oluyemi Olatoye.
