The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kaduna State on Friday decorated 47 marshals promoted in the 2026 promotion exercise.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the promoted personnel comprised 27 Senior Marshals and 20 Road Marshal Assistants (RMAs).

The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, was represented at the ceremony by the Kaduna Sector Commander, CC Andrew Longkpam.

Longkpam congratulated the newly promoted marshals, describing their promotion as recognition of their commitment, professionalism, discipline and contributions to road safety.

He said the promotion came with greater responsibilities and higher expectations, urging the marshals to provide stronger leadership and serve as role models to their colleagues.

According to him, the FRSC remains committed to preventing road traffic crashes, reducing their consequences and ensuring safer road use across the country.

He urged the newly promoted marshals to uphold the Corps’ core values of integrity, professionalism, team spirit and compassion in the discharge of their duties.

Longkpam also encouraged them to embrace continuous learning and innovation, noting that the road safety environment was constantly evolving and required improved knowledge, skills and operational methods.

He urged them to demonstrate fairness, firmness and respect for members of the public, stressing that enforcement must always be carried out within the provisions of the law.

The sector commander further advised the marshals to prioritise public enlightenment, education and effective engagement as tools for promoting voluntary compliance among motorists.

He said the ultimate measure of the Corps’ success was not the number of arrests made or penalties imposed, but its ability to save lives, prevent crashes and create a safer road environment.

Longkpam urged the newly promoted marshals to wear their new ranks with pride and humility while remaining worthy ambassadors of the Corps.

He also urged them to remain disciplined, punctual and dedicated to duty as they assumed their new responsibilities.

NAN reports that the ceremony was attended by DCC Thomas Musa Ishaya of the Nigerian Correctional Service Training School, Kaduna, and His Royal Highness, Chikasoron Zazzau, Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed.

Other dignitaries at the event included heads of departments, officers and men of the command, as well as families, friends and well-wishers.
