The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has warned residents of Mando, Tsamiya, Kauya and Afaka areas against trespassing during a range exercise.

The Academy said the Range Classification Exercise for cadets would hold from Sept. 7 to Sept. 9 at the NDA Open Range, Afaka.

This is contained in a statement issued on Sunday by Maj. Njoka Irabor, Academy Public Relations Officer.
Irabor said the exercise was part of the academy’s activities aimed at enhancing the proficiency and operational preparedness of its cadets.

He assured residents and members of the public that all necessary safety measures had been put in place to ensure the successful conduct of the exercise.

He, however, advised the public to avoid trespassing or moving close to the range area throughout the three-day exercise.

“The general public is strongly advised to avoid trespassing or moving close to the range general area throughout the period of the exercise,” he said.

The academy also appealed to media organisations and community stakeholders to disseminate the information widely to ensure public awareness and safety.

It appreciated residents and stakeholders for their continuous cooperation and understanding.

The statement conveyed the assurances of the NDA Commandant, Maj.-Gen. Oluyemi Olatoye.
